Wow – I’ve never even thought of it but now my mind is reeling with ideas. I’ve recently joined an online Facebook group and now I’m obsessed with creating a Sensory Garden for my dog.
Imagine letting your dog outside in the morning to sniff the overnight bunny trails AND also enjoy the herbs you planted that can jazz her senses. Such as rosemary, mint & lavender. Give her some areas to roll in and a place to dig. I know my heeler loved to rub his face on the rosemary bush and my dachshund cannot pass clover without rolling in it.
This group of genius dog owners have developed sensory gardens just for their dogs to explore including… but not limited to…. Fountains, sand “dig” pits, low reaching wind chimes, easy going agility courses and much more. I’m fascinated with their creativity.
Your dog can explore this garden by themselves or you can engage in the activities. Motion activated fountains or I am thinking about making some imaginary bunnies & squirrels that pop up. Maybe a lure course and some dig pits sound like fun. If you want to be invited to this amazing group of ingenious dog parents let me know.
