I'm sorry, I am the worst at keeping up with this blog. I started out strong but to be honest things are just really stressful right now and when I am stressed I have a hard time writing or doing anything creative. I tend to stick with priorities like clients, dishes, husband, dogs, sleep.
Sadly as you can see "meditate" wasn't listed and that is something I have noticed. If I don't take the time to stop and meditate the stress of the world... everything... tends to wear on me. My meditation practice is a work in progress which means I am on the right path. But I realize that when I am getting tense and antsy it's because I haven't been meditating. Namesta pet people! I truly believe that meditation is important to our well being.
Now onto Puzzle toys!! The picture is Miss P'Nut doing the expert Trixie Puzzle toy I got on Chewy.com. The instructions say to introduce each section one at a time but I loaded it all with treats to see what she would do. And well... she is a scent hound so she went right to work. My favorite thing is watching her grab the strings with her mouth and pull the drawer open or pull the top off. I literally laugh the entire time, I'm so proud of her confidence. So awesome!
Puzzles allow your dog to use their nose AND their brain so this is extra fun for them. Plus adding in the treats creates endorphines and dopamine which makes them happy. I have done this about 5 or 6 times with her in one setting and she oddly does a different section each time. I guess she is trying to mix it up too. LOL!
I'd like to find a way to share with other pet people whose dog has "mastered" the puzzle and wants a new one but I can't figure out how to make that program work. Any ideas?
